Our main focus is on the supply of engineers, technicians, operators, millwrights, electricians, welders and site services personnel. Our clients include mining companies, engineering companies, technical service providers, technology suppliers and financial institutions. |
Orepros is in need of a Geologist for one of his clients located in the Nunavik Geological work to be completed directly at the exploration camp as well as the warehouse in Schefferville, Qc.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor:
- Unpack, sort, transfer and dry samples.
- Execute and carry out crushing, pulverization.
- Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform routine quality checks including particle size analysis, dust loss and report data immediately to supervisor or group leader if results are outside of acceptability parameters.
- Keep the work area clean and organized by ensuring that spills are cleaned up immediately; disposal is in accordance with laboratory procedures,
- Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order by notifying the supervisor or group leader of any damaged or faulty equipment or any equipment requiring adjustment, ie pulverizing time or gaping crushers.
- Maintain all records and notebooks in good order, including work orders and equipment maintenance logs.
Exigences
- Experience of at least three (1) years in geology or related field.
- Understanding of fundamental exploration disciplines, including structural geology, geochemistry, and geophysical methode
- Ability to perform routine bench testing
- A willingness to learn new analytical tests, instruments and procedures
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills required; bilingualism is considered an asset.
Profil recherché
The ideal Sample Preparation Technician candidat we are looking for:
- Ability to work effectively at a variety of scales and guide exploration activities and evaluations at continent, district, or deposit scales.
- Proven commitment to workplace health & safety.
- High proficiency with geological modelling software and standard computer platforms, including Microsoft 365.
- Availability to work on rotation schedule and live on-site in a remote exploration camp.
